AMA Foundation's Healthy Communities, Healthy America

Amy Hamlin, Executive Director of Volunteers in Medicine, for the second year has been asked to serve on the Selection Committee for the American Medical Association (AMA) Foundation’s 2008 Healthy Communities, Healthy America grant program.

With generous sponsorship from Pfizer Inc, the Healthy Communities, Healthy America program was established to recognize and support existing physician-led free clinics that directly provide free or low-cost medical care to underinsured and uninsured populations. The AMA Foundation plans to award up to 20 grants of $10,000-$25,000.

Grant recipients will be announced in early July 2008.
